PTO Treasurer Description
 
Time Required: 
* 1 hour a month for Board meetings
* 2 hours a month for account maintenance & reconciliation and preparing monthly report
* Approximately 6 hours per event pre & post event accounting
* 3 to 6 ours day of events
* Busiest time is week of Back to School in August and through end of September
 
Summary: 
* Have custody of all funds of the organization
* Keep a full and accurate record of receipts and expenditures in Quick Books
* Enter all transactions into Quick Books from PTO Website invoices and Paper forms (payments in credit cards, checks, cash)
* Make disbursements as authorized
* Have checks or vouchers signed by two persons
* Make a full report at the PTO meetings at which new officers officially assume their duties (usually the annual meetings)
* Adhere to the auditing policies described in the bylaws
* Keep all funds in a local federally insured financial institution
* Preparation & management of cash boxes for events
* Annual Audit Process Management
* Preparation of annual PTO budget and updates for monthly PTO meetings
* Attend all events
* Organize and submit taxes
* Responsible for EIN number
* Responsible for Non for Profit status in VA and Federal

* After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) Committee
* Audit Committee
